Avicely CTRM is web-based CTRM and ETRM software. Capture trades, watch positions and P&L, measure MTM and VaR, schedule cargoes and parcels, price against index averages, and invoice and settle, all in one fast app that runs in the browser.

The live demo is free, on simulated desk data. A quick free signup gives you full access.

Avicely CTRM dashboard: total, unrealised and realised P&L, one-day VaR, credit use, P&L by book, exposure by commodity and front-month prices for Brent, WTI, gasoil, Henry Hub, TTF and power

Why it exists

A physical commodity trading platform without the legacy weight.

Many trading desks still run on spreadsheets stitched to a heavyweight on-premise system. Avicely CTRM puts front, middle and back office on one live record of each deal: the trader's ticket, the risk manager's VaR, the scheduler's parcels and the finance team's invoices all read the same trade.

Because it is a cloud CTRM delivered through the browser, there is nothing to install. It works on a trading-floor monitor, a laptop or a phone, stays fast on large blotters, and keeps the whole desk on one version.

Features

Everything a trading desk runs on, in one web app.

Trade capture and blotter

Capture physical deals, futures, swaps and options on one ticket. The common fields sit up front; incoterms, tolerance, quality, broker fees and credit terms wait under Advanced.

  • Inline validation and a pre-deal credit check
  • Black-76 option premiums
  • Maker-checker confirmation with full version history
  • Virtualised blotter with filters, custom columns and CSV export

Positions, P&L and exposure

Net positions by commodity and book, a tenor ladder of net delta, and P&L split into realised and unrealised so the desk sees where it stands at a glance.

  • Exposure by commodity in USD
  • P&L by book, realised and unrealised
  • Live front-month quotes against the prior close

Mark-to-market, VaR and limits

Mark-to-market against forward curves, parametric and historical value at risk with your choice of confidence and horizon, stress tests and Greeks, all computed off the main thread so the screen stays fast.

  • Stress presets plus custom scenarios
  • Trading, VaR and credit limits with breach alerts
  • An end-of-day run that snapshots the books

Logistics, cargoes and delivery parcels

Split a physical deal into parcels by vessel, barge, truck, rail or pipeline. Parcel totals are checked against the contract quantity and its tolerance, and nominations, bills of lading and actualised quantities flow back to the trade.

  • Stage board from planned to completed
  • Cargo, inventory and fleet views
  • A provisional invoice for each actualised parcel

Pricing schedules and fixings

Fixed, floating (index average plus differential) or formula pricing over the delivery month, the month after, or a bill-of-lading window such as 2-1-2, on UK or US pricing calendars.

  • Provisional prices until the last fixing, then final
  • Fixing dates computed per trade and parcel
  • Editing a schedule re-prices attached trades as audited amendments

Invoicing and settlement

Receivables and payables, provisional and final invoices, and payment terms that oil and energy trades actually use: cash against documents, letters of credit at sight or 30, 60 or 90 days, open account and prepayment.

  • Due dates from B/L, invoice, delivery or NOR
  • Late-payment interest and invoice ageing
  • Final settlement at the final schedule price

Hedging and exposure management

Tag trades as hedges, watch the hedge book next to physical exposure, and see net delta by tenor so the desk knows what is still open before the market moves.

  • Hedge designation on each trade
  • Net delta ladder by delivery month
  • Exposure checked against limits

Controls, roles and audit

Admin, Trader, Risk and Ops roles decide who can capture, confirm, price or settle. Every change is versioned and lands in a filterable audit log, with counterparty agreements, KYC, netting and credit limits kept alongside.

  • Role-aware actions that explain why something is locked
  • Custom fields on trades, counterparties and parcels
  • Reports as CSV, plus a full workspace backup

Who it's for

Energy trading and risk management across the barrel, the molecule and the megawatt.

Crude and refined products

Brent, WTI and Dubai crude, gasoil, jet and fuel oil: physical cargoes with the paper hedges around them.

Natural gas and LNG

Henry Hub and TTF positions, LNG cargoes in MMBtu, and gas swaps and options on the same books.

Power

Power futures and swaps in MWh, alongside the fuels that feed them.

Risk, operations and finance

Middle and back office get the same live data as the front office: limits, credit, parcels, invoices and audit.

Data security

Your trading book is confidential. We build like it.

Positions, prices and counterparties are among the most sensitive data a firm holds. Every Avicely CTRM deployment is built on the same commitments: isolate it, encrypt it, control who touches it, record every change, and keep it where you decide.

Isolated and encrypted

Each client gets its own tenant. Trades, positions, counterparties and documents are kept apart from every other client's at the data layer, not just hidden in the interface.

  • Tenant isolation enforced on every query
  • Encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest (AES-256)
  • Secrets and keys kept out of code and rotated

Identity and access

Your people sign in through your identity provider, and each role sees and does only what its job needs. Sensitive actions take two people.

  • Single sign-on (SAML / OIDC) and multi-factor authentication
  • Role-based access with maker-checker on confirmations, pricing and settlement
  • Least privilege for users, services and our own engineers

Tamper-evident audit trail

Every capture, amendment, confirmation and sign-in is recorded with who, what and when. The log is append-only and tamper-evident, so a changed record shows.

  • Full version history on trades, schedules and parcels
  • Filterable, exportable audit log for compliance reviews
  • Admin and access changes logged alongside trading activity

Deployed where you need it

Run Avicely CTRM in our managed cloud, inside your own cloud account or VPC, or on-premise behind your firewall. You choose the region your data lives in.

  • Our cloud, your cloud / VPC, or on-premise
  • Data residency in the region you pick
  • Network access limited to your offices or VPN if required

Your data stays yours

Your trading data is used to run your system and nothing else. It is never used to train AI models, ours or anyone else's, and it never leaves the environment you chose without your say.

  • Client data never used to train models
  • NDA in place before we see any of your data
  • Your data exported back to you in full, whenever you ask

Resilient, reviewed engineering

Automated, encrypted backups with tested restores, and a secure development process in which every change is reviewed before it reaches your environment.

  • Backups and a disaster-recovery plan agreed with you
  • Secure SDLC: peer code review on every change
  • Dependency and vulnerability checks before release

These are the commitments we build to on every engagement. We don't list certifications we don't hold: under NDA, we will walk your security team through the architecture and answer your security questionnaire.

FAQ

CTRM questions, answered.

What is CTRM software?

CTRM stands for commodity trading and risk management. CTRM software is the system of record for a trading desk: it captures trades, tracks positions and P&L, measures market and credit risk, and runs the operations behind each deal, such as scheduling, invoicing and settlement.

What is the difference between CTRM and ETRM?

ETRM (energy trading and risk management) is CTRM focused on energy: crude oil, refined products, natural gas, LNG and power. Avicely CTRM is built for energy and oil desks, so it covers what people usually mean by either term.

Which commodities does Avicely CTRM handle?

The demo includes Brent, WTI and Dubai crude, gasoil, jet fuel, fuel oil, Henry Hub and TTF natural gas, LNG and power, traded as physical deals, futures, swaps and options in barrels, metric tonnes, MMBtu and MWh.

Is Avicely CTRM web-based or installed software?

It is web-based. It runs in any modern browser on desktop, tablet or phone with nothing to install. The public demo keeps its simulated data in your browser; a production setup runs on a hosted backend or on your own infrastructure.

Can I try it before talking to anyone?

Yes. The live demo is free and runs on simulated desk data. Open it to look around, and a quick free signup gives you full access, including the advanced features. Pick a role such as Trader or Risk and follow the built-in product tour.

Does it calculate mark-to-market and VaR?

Yes. It marks positions to market against forward curves and calculates parametric and historical value at risk at the confidence and horizon you choose, with stress tests, Greeks, limits, credit utilisation and an end-of-day run.

Can it be tailored to our desk?

Yes. Custom fields, pricing formulas, payment terms and roles are configurable in the product. Avicely is a product studio, so we can also adapt workflows and connect it to your market data, single sign-on and accounting systems. Tell us what you need and we will scope it with you.

How does Avicely keep our trading data secure?

Each client runs in an isolated tenant, with data encrypted in transit and at rest. Access goes through single sign-on and multi-factor authentication, roles follow least privilege, and maker-checker covers sensitive actions, all recorded in a tamper-evident audit trail. You can run it in our cloud, your own cloud or VPC, or on-premise, in the region you choose. Your data is never used to train AI models, it is backed up with a tested recovery plan, and we sign an NDA before we see any of it. We are happy to walk your security team through the details.

How much does Avicely CTRM cost?

Pricing depends on users, workspaces and integrations, so we quote it after a short call. Book a call or send us a message from this page and we will come back with a quote.
